My musical journey

My love for music started early—receiving my first guitar at age four and singing harmonies in the church choir by age 12. That passion led me to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Music, where I received extensive training in music theory, sight-singing, ear-training, and voice.

Since 2003, I’ve performed regularly as a solo artist and have had the privilege of working in many collaborative and leadership roles. From 2006 to 2016, I served as music director at my church, while also singing lead and harmony vocals with the band WildHeart from 2008 to 2016.

In recent years, I’ve focused on songwriting and duo performances—first with Munn & Nunn (2019–present), and now also with Nunn & Nolan (2022–present). I’ve been an active member of the Southern Songwriters Association since 2019.

I began studio work in 2015 and have since contributed to projects with a wide range of talented artists and producers—an experience that has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my musical career!

Testimonials

“Cindy sang all the backing vocals on my 2025 cover of Walk on the Ocean by Toad the Wet Sprocket. She arrived at the recording session totally prepared and ready to go. Cindy did a great job on the record and I would not hesitate to hire her again.” ~ Nancy Moore (songwriter/musician)

“I’ve worked with Cindy Nunn on several live performance and studio projects over the past few years and know firsthand how much she can elevate any song. Beyond her broad vocal range that allows her to move effortlessly from melody to harmony and back, she is able to effectively guide and blend multiple other voices together. Cindy is super talented and always a pleasure to work with!” ~ Mike Nolan (songwriter/musician)

“Having worked with Cindy on multiple occasions, it was immediately clear that she is an exceptional vocalist. Her greatest talent is the ease with which she put together complex vocal harmonies for an ensemble. Do yourself (and your songs) a favor and work with Cindy on vocal harmony arrangements!” ~ Ben Robinson (Hibernation Studio)

“Cindy Nunn is a total pro and joy to work with in the studio – she comes prepared and always adds the right parts!” ~ Mike Alicke (songwriter/musician)

“Creative, experienced, versatile, collaborative. We had recorded most of the tracks for our co-written duet, but we still needed another voice. We called Cindy. She came to the session having fully learned the song and with her own ideas to offer — her melodies and harmonies entirely completed our track! We love the result!” ~ Jimmy Gilbert (songwriter/musician)

“I have used Cindy Nunn in my studio for numerous projects. She is always a pleasure to work with. Cindy is super-efficient and talented at creating just the right harmony lines. How to describe Cindy Nunn? – A smooth, silky, soulful, skilled songbird with tremendous versatility in the studio. If you want great backup vocals, a lead female voice for your recordings, and a singer proficient at creating harmony stacks, Cindy is the one. I highly recommend Cindy for any studio work.” ~ Bruce Keedy (songwriter/musician/producer)

“I was tense, studio time is expensive, difficult to plan for, and I could feel my nerves beginning to unravel. I closed my eyes. Suddenly, I felt transported to a flowery-scented meadow from my dreams. An Angel’s voice echoed above, I opened my eyes and realized Cindy Nunn had started singing.” ~ CJ Peters (songwriter/musician)
